Preludes & Fugues Opus 2: Fugue in C-sharp major
This fugue is the slowest (56 bpm at 6/8) and the longest (3:38 mins) I have composed so far. Slow tempo is very difficult to compose, because each note leaves time for feelings to set in, thus each note has more roles. On the musical content, I intend for this piece to have ambiguous feeling, maybe multiple feelings at the same time. There are calmness, poignancy, cheerfulness, sadness, longing, bittersweet memories, and anything that might be felt differently for each listener.
