Preludes & Fugues Opus 2: Prelude in C-sharp minor

I have come to cherish the experience of composing preludes. Due to its concise and flexible form, most musical idea can be easily formed into a prelude in a short time. This is a great exercise to develop a spontaneity of composition.

This prelude was written in a simple AABA form. Because it is simple and short, I put special emphasis on the logicality of melodic line arrangement. This means there should be no single note that is logically unrelated to surrounding notes or unexplainable. Each note and each phrase for any voice at any time is related to its counterpart that precedes before and proceed after it. This results in a natural flow that is harmonious and pleasant.
